Teri-Anne Greaves came to Agropur looking for a fresh start. After more than 15 years in the dental industry, she was ready to try something new and set herself up for the future.
Teri-Anne started working at Agropur’s Metropolitan Distribution Centre (MDC) Warehouse located in Etobicoke, Ontario, in 2020 as an Inventory and Shipping Technician. She’s responsible for coordinating all orders that come through the warehousing system, maintaining inventory levels, preparing orders and more. She also handles training and onboarding new employees coming into the Inventory Control Coordinator role.
Since starting in her role, Teri-Anne has been given additional opportunities that extend beyond the scope of her job. For example, she was heavily involved in the implementation of Solochain, a new warehousing system in 2022.
“When we implemented the new system, it shifted a lot of people’s responsibilities and roles including mine,” she said. “Being involved in the project gave me hands on experience with the new tool and allowed me to grow into a resource for new employees as well as current employees who were unfamiliar with the new system.”
To help with the implementation, Teri-Anne set up and facilitated training sessions for her peers, tested the software prior to launch and worked through technical difficulties when they arose.
“It’s a great feeling to be chosen for the opportunities I’ve been given at Agropur,” said Teri-Anne. “It shows that I’m trusted and able to be relied on.”
In addition to her everyday job responsibilities, Teri-Anne is one of six core team members of the MDC Social and Wellness Committee.
“We started this committee earlier this year as a way to have fun and maybe learn something new,” Teri-Anne explained. “We try to do something once a month whether it be a barbeque, bring in food trucks or most recently we gave out turkeys, stuffing and cranberry sauce around Thanksgiving. We’re currently in the works of planning a wellness-focused event for our next activity.”
When she’s not coordinating inventory or planning social and wellness events, Teri-Anne enjoys spending time with her family.
“I have local family as well as some in Windsor, so I try to visit as much as I can,” she said.
One of Teri-Anne’s favorite hobbies and pastimes is traveling.
“I love seeing new places, experiencing different cultures and trying new foods,” she said.
Anywhere with a beach seems to be the theme of her favorite destinations, which include Barbados, Jamaica and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
“If I had to pick one favorite, it would probably be Barbados solely based on how beautiful it is there,” she said.
